Despite the chip being out and about for a while, the AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX3D only ever powered one laptop: the Asus ROG Strix SCAR 17 X3D. MINISFORUM plans to use it in a Mini-ITX PC soon, but that seems to be quite some time away from launch. MSI has finally broken the cycle and announced the Titan 18 Pro Ryzen Edition.

Videocardz spotted the new Ryzen 9 7945HX3D powered laptop on Chinese e-commerce website JD.com. Specs-wise, it appears to be a standard MSI Titan 18 with its CPU swapped out. Some of its key features include an 18-inch 240 Hz IPS panel (2,560 x 1,600), 32 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD and a GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card. The website lets you expand the memory/storage up to 96 GB/4 TB. As expected, it costs a pretty penny (RMB 21,999/$3,030).

So far, the new Titan 18 Pro has been listed for pre-order only in China, with no indications of a global launch. Perhaps, it was meant to serve as a proof-of-concept, paving way for future X3D chips in Strix Halo or Kraken Point. Nevertheless, our in-depth analysis of the processor found it to lag behind flagship Raptor Lake offerings, especially in GPU-bound scenarios like 4K gaming, although it does reign supreme at 1080p and 1440p.
