Leaker @smashx_60 has shared details about a second HMD-branded tablet that the company has in development. To recap, the same account provided a first look at another option a few days ago that HMD Global appeared set to offer as the HMD Slate Tab 5G with a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset and a 10.6-inch display. Like the HMD Skyline, the HMD Slate Tab 5G will also feature a Nokia Lumia-inspired design, full details of which we have covered separately.
By contrast, the HMD Tab lite looks like many other modern Android tablets thanks to its rounded edges and asymmetric bezels. Based on the image below, the HMD Tab Lite features an 8.7-inch display, possibly making it only marginally larger than the ageing iPad mini 6 (curr. $359 - renewed on Amazon). For reference, the display is expected to be an IPS panel that outputs at just 1,340 x 800 pixels with 560 nits peak brightness.
Moreover, HMD Global is rumoured to have equipped the tablet with a Unisoc Tiger T610 chipset, as well as a meagre 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of expandable storage and a 5,500 mAh battery that supports 18 W wired charging. Furthermore, @smashx_60 asserts that the tablet possesses 8 MP rear-facing and 5 MP front-facing cameras. Currently, HMD Global is believed to have priced the HMD Tab Lite at €149 with 4G connectivity. Although a release date remains unknown for now, @smashx_60 adds that there will be black, blue and pink colour options at launch.
